Amla-based Supplements For Improving Immunity and Boosting Digestive Health

What is it?

Clinical research suggests that 50–200 mg of suntheanine stimulates activity in the brain known as alpha waves, which are associated with a relaxed but alert mental state. Suntheanine is the trade name for Taiyo’s patented pure form of L-theanine. Suntheanine is not an extract of green tea but rather is produced via a patented process that mimics the natural process in green tea leaves, resulting in 100% pure L-isomer-theanine. Additional human clinical research suggests that suntheanine may have applications in improving the quality of sleep, diminishing normal symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), improving learning performance, heightening mental acuity, promoting concentration, reducing negative side effects of caffeine, and supporting the immune system.

Suntheanine® is the origin of an award-winning, patented, high-purity L-isomer-specific L-theanine (chemical name: L-glutamic acid-y-monoethyl amine), a unique amino acid found in tea (Camellia sinensis). and patented dietary ingredient for stress, relaxation, focus, and improved sleep efficiency

How does it work?

  • Suntheanine® is absorbed in the small intestine via a sodium-coupled active transport process and crosses the blood-brain barrier, where it is absorbed into the brain in a dose-dependent manner.
  • Suntheanine® directly stimulates the production of alpha brain waves (a state often achieved by meditation, one of deep relaxation and mental alertness).
  • Suntheanine® plays a role in the formation of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA and increases dopamine release through the modulation of glycine and AMPA receptors. It promotes relaxation and excitatory inhibition without leading to drowsiness.
  • Clinical trials have shown Suntheanine® promotes an alert state of relaxation without drowsiness, enhances sleep quality, and improves focus and concentration, as indicated by an increase in alpha brain waves and a decrease in beta brain waves. Suntheanine® is absorbed through the brush-border membrane in the large intestine and transported directly to the brain, where it stimulates the generation of alpha brain waves.

Have questions?
We’ve got the answers!

  • Do we need a prescription?
This is a 100% natural plant-based extract. Since this is a supplement and not a drug, you do not need a doctor's prescription.
  • Are there any side effects of prolonged consumption?
Absolutely not. This is safe and effective.
  • Is this supplement suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women?
It is safe for consumption. However, pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their healthcare provider before using such supplements.
  • What is the best time to take it? How long does it take for supplements to work?
There is no set schedule for taking Suntheanine®. Ideally, it should be taken when levels of stress are noticed. The effects of Suntheanine® are generally felt within 30 minutes and have been shown to last up to 8–12 hours. Consumption of Suntheanine® is not affected (positively or negatively) by the consumption of food.
  • Will it induce drowsiness?
The intended use of Suntheanine® is as a relaxant to produce mental and physical relaxation without inducing drowsiness.
  • Is L-theanine legal and regulated?
L-theanine supplements are generally considered legal and are widely available. L-Theanine was approved in Japan in 1964 for unlimited use in foods. In 2000, Suntheanine® was introduced in the U.S. for use in dietary supplements. Suntheanine® was GRAS-affirmed in the U.S. in 2005 for use in foods and beverages up to 250 mg/serving, with no cap on the number of servings. Suntheanine® is produced using a unique enzymatic technique that yields an enantiomerically pure L-isomer-specific Theanine. In 2007, the U.S. FDA further confirmed the GRAS affirmation in its Letter of No Objection (GRN 000209). Suntheanine® has been shown to be safe based on numerous favorable toxicology and efficacy studies.
  • Can I take L-theanine with caffeine?
Yes, L-theanine is often combined with caffeine to mitigate the jittery effects of caffeine while enhancing its cognitive benefits. This combination is commonly found in nootropic supplements.
  • Can't I get enough L-theanine from my diet?
While L-theanine is naturally found in tea leaves, the amount present in a cup of tea may not be sufficient to achieve the desired effects, especially if you're looking for therapeutic benefits such as stress reduction or improved focus.
  • Is L-theanine habit-forming?
No, L-theanine is not known to be habit-forming. It does not create a dependency, and you can discontinue its use without experiencing withdrawal symptoms.
  • Can L-theanine help with panic attacks?
L-theanine's calming effects might provide some relief during panic attacks for certain individuals, but they're not a replacement for proper medical treatment or therapy. Consult a healthcare professional for appropriate guidance.
  • Can L-theanine worsen certain health conditions?
While L-theanine is well-tolerated by most people, those with low blood pressure, liver conditions, or allergies to tea should exercise caution and consult a healthcare professional before use.
  • Can L-theanine be used for children?
The safety and efficacy of L-theanine supplements for children have not been extensively studied. It's best to consult a pediatrician before giving any supplements to children.
